Current State of Foreign Affairs Committed Friend and Trusted Allie

American mission of reaching democracy from conditions of terror and aggression is closest to be realized in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Both in local and global terms, investment in reaching just democratic society and regional stability in and around of Bosnia and Herzegovina is just too important to be left to chance.

Half measures compromising values of freedom, democracy and respect for human dignity must not be the closing act of the historic role the United States will play in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

--- Dear Friends:

One of the core commitments of BAACBH is providing timely analysis capable of defining a responsible and successful course of U.S. foreign policy in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.

Following materials are provided for your convenience as the context for what we believe should be the CORE PRINCIPLES of the evermore effective and sustained U.S. foreign policy in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.

YOU MAY ASK WHY SHOULD WE SUPPORT CONTINUOUS ENGAGEMENT OF THE UNITED STATES IN BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA?

For more than a decade, United States and its people have been invested in reaching justice from a condition of Genocide and brutal Aggression in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Transforming environment of chaos into conditions of regional stability is now at hand. This is a truly noble cause demonstrating American capacity to deliver peace and stability while creating conditions of democratic governance.

However, this investment can only be secured and rewards enjoyed by bringing Bosnia and Herzegovina into full membership status within Euro-Atlantic integrations.

Judging from the painstaking reform process of the past decade, international community's continued involvement and American leadership will be necessary to ensure democratic institutions compatible with Euro-Atlantic integrations.

The prestige and credibility that the United States has in the region remains needed to effect leadership in resolving some of the most difficult issues before us. Consolidation of security systems and democratic governance is yet to be achieved.

While this process remains a challenge, on the path to an accountable society capable of protecting interests of its own citizens and enhancing prospects of regional stability and overall security, the process is one that must be completed.

American mission of spreading democracy from conditions of terror and aggression is closest to be realized in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Half measures compromising values of freedom, democracy and respect for human dignity must not be the closing act of the historic role the United States will play in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Both in local and global terms, investment in reaching just democratic society and regional stability in and around of Bosnia and Herzegovina is just too important to be left to chance.

We hope you will find the content of this page informative and useful in better understanding how we derive the core principles that will define a responsible course of democratic transition in Bosnia and Herzegovina and why we believe role of U.S. Government in this effort remains indispensable.

We look forward to receiving your feedback and suggestions for how to improve our policy orientation and make it more effective.
